4 Artists Experiment with Chuurch & Strange Future’s “Rabbit Hole”
Back in September, PRIME released Chuurch’s and Strange Future’s experimental track “Rabbit Hole” to much praise. Feeling inspired by the original, Lick, Kotek, Syn and Cloverdale put their own spin on the original in an impressive Remix EP, which is out now. Listen below:
The original’s punchy bass growls are emphasized in Lick’s midtempo beast, crafting a show ready tune for the bass lovers. Featured in his Halloween mix, the Deadbeats artist must have been feeling the original just like label-heads Zed’s Dead. Kotek joins PRIME for the first time with a remix that fuses the midtempo beat with liquid grime elements, giving the crunchy bass a smoother feel without sacrificing the dirtiness of the original. After partnering with Rezz and Gramatik recently Kotek struts his stuff with this remix.
Syn flips the experimental sounds into his massive dubstep style perfect for the headbanging crew. Turning the level up to 11, Syn’s signature crunchy metal additions catapult the original’s experimental side stage endeavor into a full-blown mainstage bass massive. Cloverdale closes out the “Rabbit Hole” remix pack with a dirty tech-house beat, perfect for the shufflers out there. Influenced by Night Bass and Dirtybird, the Canadian duo calms the original with its 4 x 4 house beat without losing the dirty essence and experimentation of it.
Amassing over 18k plays in a little less than a month, “Rabbit Hole” has been gaining traction since its release in September. Earning praise from Deadbeats label heads Zed’s Dead, the Chuurch & Strange Future original has been inspiring new producers to test their limits and expand the growing experimental genres. Lick, Kotek, Syn and Cloverdale may not have been on your radar earlier but after this massive Remix EP, but they should be now.
